Why is November SASSA SRD Still Pending?

Why is November SASSA SRD Still Pending? | Why is November SASSA SRD Still Pending? Many Sassa Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant applicants received ‘Sassa status pending’ message when they checked their November SRD payment date. Some are not sure what ‘pending’ status means with regard to the progress of their application. Here is what the ‘sassa status pending’ means.

Why is November SASSA SRD Still Pending?

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) said that a ‘Pending’ application status means that your application has not been approved yet. Sassa is still in the process of scanning the applicant’s details so that they can be verified.

“Pending means your application has not yet been approved, your details still need to be screened and verified first. Once approved, you will receive an SMS from SASSA requesting your banking details, then you will be paid. Yes, there is no set payment date for the special COVID-19 SRD grant.” – Sassa said

Sassa has urged applicants to keep checking their Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant status for any updates. Sassa validates the applicant’s name, surname and ID number with the Department of Home Affairs once the application undergoes the verification process.

To make sure that Sassa applicants do not receive other grants or have other sources of income, their ID numbers are matched against various databases such as National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), South African Revenue Services (SARS) and Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).

Although the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) tries to pay the R350 grants on time, there are still some delays. Also, many applicants still have a ‘Pending’ application status. The R350 SRD grant application status for November 2022 is still pending because verifications have not yet started.

According to Sassa, these applicants are experiencing this delay because the agency has been trying to keep up with the influx of current applications.

Sassa said that beneficiaries also do not need to reconfirm that they are still in need of the grant. Previously people had to reconfirm every three months.
