The Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) Admission Requirements 2023/2024 | Kenya Water Institute admission requirement for all the courses at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate level has been released for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The management of Kenya Water Institute has released the Application Requirement/Registration Requirement for the Student Studying in the institution.

Kenya Water Institute Admission Requirements

For Certificate courses, the minimum entry requirements are an average D+ in KCSE or a division III in KCE. Those with D+ or Credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Physical Science will have an added advantage.

S/N PROGRAM MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Level 6: Diploma 

 

1.      Water Engineering Technology (WET) 

2.      Wastewater and Sanitation Engineering Technology (WSET)

3.      Irrigation and Drainage Engineering Technology (IDET)

(a)   KCSE Mean Grade C- (minus) or a division II in KCE with at least D (plain) in any of the sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry / Physical Science, Biology) or Geography OR 

(b)   KCSE Mean Grade C- and Artisan Course / Certificate from KEWI or any equivalent National Qualification

(c)   As determined by the Academic Board

4.      Diploma Water Resources Management Technology (WRTM) 

 

(a)      KCSE Mean Grade C- (minus) or a division II in KCE with at least D (plain) in any of the sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry / Physical Science, Biology) or Geography OR 

(b)     KCSE Mean Grade C- and Artisan Course / Certificate from KEWI or any equivalent National Qualification OR

(c)      As determined by the Academic Board

5.      Diploma Water Laboratory Technology (WLT) (a)   KCSE Mean Grade C- (minus) or a division II in KCE with at least D (plain) in any of the sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry /Physical Science, Biology) or Geography OR 

(b)   KCSE Mean Grade C- and Artisan Course/ Certificate from KEWI or any equivalent National Qualification OR

(c)   As determined by the Academic Board

6.      Diploma Information & Communication Technology (ICT) (a)      KCSE Mean Grade C- (minus) or a division II in KCE OR 

(b)     KCSE Mean Grade C- and Artisan Course/ Certificate from KEWI or any equivalent National Qualification OR

(c)       As determined by the Academic Board

 

 

2. Level 5: Craft Certificate 

 

1.      Water Engineering Technology (WET) 

2.      Wastewater and Sanitation Engineering Technology (WSET)

3.      Irrigation and Drainage Engineering Technology (IDET)

4.      Water Resources Management Technology (WRMT)

5.      Water Laboratory Technology (WLT)

(a)   KCSE Mean Grade D (plain) OR 

(b)   Artisan Course qualification from KEWI or any equivalent National Qualification OR

(c)   As determined by the Academic Board

3. Level 4: Artisan  

 

1.      Plumbing and Pipefitting (PPF) 

2.      Water Operators Course (WOC)

(a)   KCSE Certificate OR 

(b)   Basic Operator Course qualification OR

(c)   any other qualification approved by the Academic Board

4. Basic Plumbing / Basic Operators Courses – Level 3 (a)   Kenya Certificate of Primary Education OR 

(b)   Experiential knowledge approved by the Academic Board
