Get Your NSFAS Appeal Status
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) provides funding to students who come from poor or working-class backgrounds, who would like to attend a tertiary institution.
Thousands of students apply for NSFAS funding which will lead to some unsuccessful applications which applicants are allowed to appeal.
If you are one of the students who have appealed your unsuccessful NSFAS application, here is a step by step guide on how you can get your application appeal status.
How To Get Your NSFAS Appeal Status
- Log into your myNSFAS account on www.nsfas.org.za
- Click the ‘Track Funding Progress’ option
- Check the application progress tabs
- You will be able to track the progress of your appeal via your MyNSFAS account
When you have successfully submitted your NSFAS appeal, you will notice that your NSFAS status will state ‘Active Appeal’. This NSFAS status means you have been provisionally approved for funding and that your funding is pending final approval.
Once your NSFAS funding has been approved your NSFAS status will change to ‘Approved for funding subject to registration’ and if you have had your funding application rejected your status will change to ‘Application unsuccessful’.
NSFAS provides bursaries to individuals who plan on studying or are applying to study at one of South Africa’s 26 Public Universities or 50 TVET Colleges.
NSFAS bursaries cover more than just your tuition fees. NSFAS will also cover your registration, accommodation, transport, books and other student needs.
